Completely healing the breasts involves the restoration of a woman's mind, body, feelings and spirit. Yet most women today typically undergo only treatment for the removal of the lump or mass in the breast. The breast disorder is usually treated with some type of surgery, followed at times by chemotherapy and/or radiation. These treatments are designed to remove the lump from the breast, and destroy any secondary occurrences in the surrounding lymph glands. The rehabilitation often ends right there. Many women are never given the opportunity to actually do the complete process of healing. Self-healing in inner awareness allows women to achieve the total healing of mind, body, feelings and spirit that is really essential for complete recovery.

Today more & more women are mentally & emotionally transforming their experience of breast disorders and cancer so as to achieve this total healing. They initiate this comprehensive healing at the deepest levels of awareness, in order to bring about newly enriched, dynamic, creative, & healed lives. Women are doing all of the innermost reflective work to transform the thoughts, perceptions, and emotional patterns associated with their breast disorder. Self-healing in inner awareness is an excellent method of doing that thoughtful work.

Many women who develop breast disorders come to a unique realization during their recovery. They come to understand that their physical condition is often associated with their feelings, their thoughts, their beliefs & perceptions, and their inability to achieve a meaningful life. Women see an association between their breast affliction and life's disappointments & frustrations, emotional repression, lack of self-nourishment, along with inner rage, personal sorrow, feelings of abandonment, and with unreleased hurt & resentment from the past. Some women have noted their breast disorder occurred following years of inability to acknowledge & express so-called negative emotions, or with being ignored & emotionally disregarded by others in their life. Other women feel that their illness is related to the emotional ravages of modern society- contemporary "hurry sickness", incessant stress, the constant drive for perfectionism, and being completely enslaved by materialistic consumerism. In some women's lives, acquiring a tennis bracelet can be more important than enriching the relationship with a loved one. Such attitudes devastate rather than enrich women's emotional lives.

The breast represents nurturing and the sustaining of life. Many women today do not take the time to properly nurture themselves; they are too consumed by the care and service of others. They allow personal & family circumstances to drain away all of their essential life energy and spiritual creativity. There is insufficient time for physical rest and restoration, for complete emotional expression & catharsis of uncomfortable feelings, for genuine fulfillment of the soul & spirit. There is guilt about not being able to do enough for others. And so, bereft of all that really matters in a woman's life, the nurturing breasts become afflicted; the breasts are in fact sending a message that the deepest self is being ignored.

Self-healing in inner awareness permits a woman to acknowledge, experience & dissolve away uncomfortable & unresolved emotions. Self-healing also cleanses away troublesome thoughts and injurious self-perceptions. Most importantly, Self-healing allows a woman to examine her life from a calm and detached perspective. She can reevaluate her values, reexamine her priorities, determine what her life should really be about, learn to release any unpleasant emotions of the past. She can enhance those aspects of her life that are working and remedy those that are not working. It is also important to take time to become fully absorbed in the joys of nature, to plan on how to provide herself with the essential time for the self-nurturing, and to enjoy her femininity & womanhood. Self-healing also allows a woman to relieve all of the deep inner tension that exists in her subconscious mind & body. By eliminating that deep stress, the body has the opportunity to restore & revitalize the immune system giving it greater ability to help overcome current illness, and help prevent future breast disorders. Clearly, any woman with a history of breast problems should utilize self-healing in inner awareness to properly restore her emotional & physical well-being.
